First, Sistema containers are made in New Zealand & are BPA-free, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, freezer safe & airtight! I love the functional yet simple style of these…plus the bright colors. And they are all 40% off with prices ranging from $4.80-$15. Personally, I think the best bargain is the Slimline Quaddie, shown above. It has 4 individual compartments (keeping say, sandwiches separate from grapes!) & includes a water bottle for only $6! We have plenty of waste free lunch options, but I’m tempted to buy that one anyway because it looks amazing & is so affordable.
Next up are Bumkins Reusable Snack Bags 40% off. The prices of these range from $2.97-$4.17, so you will easily recoup the money spent on these in about 1 month by not buying plastic sandwich baggies. These are lead free, PVC free, BPA free, Phthalates free, & vinyl free…& better for the environment. Did you know that more than 20 million plastic sandwich bags are used every day? And where do the bulk of those end up? In landfills, that’s where. Isn’t that a scary thought? We have some reusable bags similar to these (another brand) & they worked great. And my daughter didn’t lose one the entire school year last year (although I did have to remind her to bring them home some days!).
Either way, going waste-free is good for the environment, saves you money, & if the right products are purchased, reduces your families’ exposure to nasty chemicals. Which is a win/win situation if you ask me!
