About
I’m Heather, the wizard behind the curtain of Because More Is More. I’m a bit of a study in contradictions. Don’t believe me? Here are some examples:
- I am passionate about feeding my family organic food, but I am addicted to Crystal Light Peach iced tea (which I am pretty sure contains nothing in it that came from a peach orchard).
- I love crawling into a freshly made bed, but I hate making my bed.
- I believe we are all responsible for keeping our planet healthy, yet I drive a SUV (although we did buy my husband a hybrid last year!).
There is one thing I don’t waiver on however, & it’s the fact that I hate paying full price. If there is a way to avoid doing so, I will find it. If you are a fellow frugal kindred spirit, then you have found a welcome spot in the blogosphere here.
Whether you are new to couponing or a pro at it, I hope you find Because More Is More fun & informative. Stop by often & say hi!

Hey girlfriend!
I’m sure you already know this, BUT…
I was at Fred Meyer this evening and I bought 2 Toaster Strudels (not so organic, I know) at 2/$4. I had a manufacturer’s coupon for $1.00 off. I didn’t realize I also had an eCoupon saved on my card for $.50 off. Since I usually scan my rewards card first, when I went to use the coupon, it wouldn’t take it. Long story short, I came to find out that I should use all my printed coupons and THEN scan the rewards card at Fred Meyer. In the end, it allowed me to use BOTH coupons!
Also, I was at Rite Aid today and (yes, I’m new at all this) found out that their +UP Rewards don’t just save to the card, you have to actually treat them like printed coupons in order to redeem them. And since they’re at the bottom of a very lengthy receipt, they can be easily missed. Might be a good reminder to share for those of us who are NEW couponers. I bet there’s a lot of us, in light of the Extreme Couponers show!
Thanks, Heather! I really love your site! I now feel liberated in my frugal ways!

Stephanie,
Did the clerk at Freddie’s tell you that you could use both if you use the paper coupons first? I thought they cracked down on that.
And yes, the +UP rewards are on a receipt & do have an expiration date on them….so it’s best to pay close attention. I haven’t lost one, but have forgotten to use a RR at Walgreens before & had it espire. That’s not fun!
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you’re doing well & kudos on your savings!
Heather we are definitely virtual BFFs! I have share all three of those bullet points with you above. One difference, I love Crystal Light Fruit Punch. Other than that same right down to the cars.
Lisa, so funny! I was anxiously awaiting the Prius minivan, but then they did the big review at the auto shows & it wasn’t a minivan! (Although the Prius V does still look like a great alternative to a small SUV.)
Hhmmm….maybe I need to try the Crystal Light Fruit Punch, now.
